Major Injury Forces Vargas out of Baseball

Las Vegas right fielder Ricardo Vargas has suffered a concussion according to team doctors and will have to retire from baseball at the age of 35. The career-ending injury occurred in yesterday's Stars-Cowboys game at Burns Field. Vargas was injured making a defensive play and had to be taken to the hospital. Tests revealed the severity of his injury.

This season Vargas is swinging the bat at a .262 pace. He has hit 28 home runs and scored 88 times, while driving in 84. His on-base percentage is .394 and he has played in 130 games.
