Davis Runs Hit String to 31 Straight Games Sunday, May 7th, 2023 Evans HS's 17-year-old catcher Holden Davis has had a fine run at the plate over the last few weeks. His consecutive-game hitting streak has reached 31 games now. Today Davis extended the streak by going 3-for-6 against Tigers pitching. The streak has brought him a degree of attention that he has tried to deflect. Davis always prefers to talk about his teammates' accomplishments rather than his own. After the Knights 24-6 triumph over Coweta HS at Engines Ballpark he downplayed his part in the victory. Holden Davis singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and walked in a run in the 7th. During the current season Davis is batting at a .312 clip with 2 home runs and 23 RBIs. He has played in 32 games and scored 24 times. |
