2023 #1 Player Chosen By NCAA Monday, June 26th, 2023 He may have less experience than some veteran members of the College Baseball, but that didn't slow Dave Cook down at alll in 2023. At the age of 19, the Boston College first baseman has been named the winner of the NCAA Dick Howser Award. He had a .429 batting average and a .550 on-base percentage this year. In 50 games he piled up 79 hits, 10 doubles, no triples, 24 home runs, 69 RBIs and 48 runs scored. "I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year." Domingo Hernández of the Kansas Jayhawks finished second in voting, while Eric Pimentel of the Missouri Tigers finished third. |
