5-for-7 Game for White Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023 After the South Florida 6-5 victory over Arkansas and his 5-hit day second baseman Tex White told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good. Three or four hits even better, five or more are out of sight ... and if it is in pro ball, it is really something special." The 21-year-old player gained that distinction today at Red McEwen Field with a spectacular 5 for 7 game against the Arkansas Razorbacks. The skipper of the Bulls spoke glowingly of White, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Tex did that to perfection today." Tex White singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th, walked in the 10th, struck out in the 12th, hit a two-run double in the 14t h and hit an RBI single in the 15th. For the season White is hitting .340, batted in 46 runs with 5 home runs and 31 runs scored. |
