Swing! Swang! Swung! Pimentel Smashes 3 HR
Saturday, April 29th, 2023
Three home runs in a game doesn't happen often. When it does it is something special to celebrate. And Eric Pimentel of Missouri can celebrate it. He is now a member of the select group of players, who have hit three home runs in a single game. He powered three into the stands today at Rocky Miller Park against the Northwestern Wildcats.
In all he was 3-for-4 as the Tigers toppled Northwestern 8-7, knocking in 4 runs and scoring 3 times.
Pimentel told reporters after the game, "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run. Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today I tried on the last one."
His manager added, "He is blessed with a natural home run swing. He gets the ball up in the air."
Eric Pimentel hit a two-run home run off Ben Madison in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Alfredo García in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Harlan Bruce in the 9th.
Currently Pimentel has 17 home runs and a .309 batting average.
