Johnson Batters South Carolina Big Time Wednesday, April 12th, 2023 Mississippi third baseman Justin Johnson put on quite a show at Swayze Field with a big 5-hit day in the 14-3 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks. In the postgame interview, he said with a smile, "Not a bad day at the plate, 5 for 5.. Wish I could do this more often. It would do wonders for my batting average ... and my salary, too." Justin Johnson hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. Thus far in 2023 Johnson is hitting .240 with 1 home run, 5 RBIs, 9 runs scored and has compiled a .333 OBP. |
