Young 5-for-6 Against Tennessee Tuesday, April 11th, 2023 "Ever since I picked up my first bat my coaches were always saying to keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing... just make contact and ya never know what'll happen," Tom Young told reporters after the game. "That's all I did today. I made contact and it turned out well." It definitely turned out well for the Florida State center fielder today as he collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats against Tennessee. But not so good for his team, as the Volunteers took the game at Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium, whipping the Seminoles 14-9. Tom Young flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off António Peña in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 11th. During the current season Young is batting at a .378 clip with 3 home runs and 12 RBIs. He has played in 11 games and scored 9 times. |
