But on this day at Haymarket Park Montgomery of the Nebraska Cornhuskers was in complete command, not allowing the Oklahoma Sooners a single base hit in the 2-0 victory. "Obviously, you never think this will happen," he said. "I don't know if it's really sunk in yet." Montgomery faced 29 batters, had 13 strikeouts and 1 walk in a dominating effort. "To do this you have to have a good defense behind you, too." "He was on from the get-go," one of the Sooners said. "He throws quite a few pitches.
