Sinners Hurler Named PIO's Best Starter Saturday, July 1st, 2023 In June, Michael Chapman tore through the Pioneer League like a seasoned veteran -- quite impressive for a player only 23 years old. The young Surrey starter posted a 5-0 mark and an ERA of 0.95 to earn the Pitcher of the Month award. In 28.1 innings he collected 43 strikeouts while limiting the opposition to a .160 average. This year Chapman has a 5-5 mark in 14 starts with a 3.96 ERA. He has given up 65 hits in 72.2 innings, struck out 102 and issued 32 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .234 batting average against him. |
