Nelson Socks it to Cougars, Cracks 7 Hits Saturday, September 30th, 2023 "It was almost like batting practice. I saw the ball very well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted." That's what Chula Vista third baseman John Nelson said to BNN reporters after his fantastic 7-for-8 day against the Jasper Cougars at The Cougar Den. "I got some good counts and used the whole field." The Tacos had a good day, too, and won the ballgame 16-8. John Nelson walked in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, hit a two-run single in the 9th, singled in the 12th, singled in the 14th and hit a three-run double in the 14th. This year Nelson is batting .236 with 1 home run and 27 RBIs. In 74 games he has scored 31 times. |
