He froze ... for a couple of seconds he didn't move. "This hitter is the last one," Valenzuela told himself. Then he collected himself and finished one of his greatest performances ever. The Seattle hurler no-hit the Surrey Sinners 1-0 at The Pleasure Dome, finishing with 4 walks and 10 strikeouts, facing only 32 batters. Valenzuela admitted to the press, "I knew from the fifth inning on it was a no-hitter, but really didn't worry about it until the last out. I just wanted to win the game until then ... then I wanted the no-hitter, too." |
