Nantucket Pitcher Racks Up Outstanding Pitcher Award Saturday, October 14th, 2023 He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Alfredo González performed like a veteran on the hill for the Nantucket Orcas and walked away with the Appalachian League Outstanding Pitcher Award in the process. The 24-year-old Orcas star fashioned a 20-8 won-loss record in 2023 with a 2.48 ERA. In 239.1 innings of work and 44 starts, González struck out 364 while giving up 171 hits and 60 walks. He held opposing batters to a .198 average. Terry Fields of the Nantucket Orcas finished second in voting, while Scot MacIntosh of the Nantucket Orcas finished third. |
