Midwest League Announces Top Starter Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 Ben Couch hasn't been around the big leagues long enough to know that youngsters shouldn't be winning Midwest League Pitcher of the Month. But when you put up numbers like his, you're going to get some notice. In July the Cincinnati starter earned a 5-0 mark in 6 starts. He threw 35.1 innings, struck out 48 and compiled a solid 0.51 ERA. On the season Couch has compiled a 12-5 mark with a 2.32 ERA in 23 starts. In pitching 136 innings he has 171 strikeouts and 27 walks while limiting the opposition to a .223 batting average. |
