Olivas's Hit Streak Over Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023 The Wilmington Rebels did something to Felipe Olivas no team had done for the last 25 games -- they held him hitless and stopped his consecutive-game hitting streak. But they didn't stop the Bulldogs. Newark came away with a 7-5 victory at Newark Recreational Ballpark. Commenting on the demise of the streak, the 25-year-old shortstop told BNN, "Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever, but it was a good ride while it lasted." For the year Olivas is batting .396 with 1 home run. |
