Olivas Stretches Hit String to 25

Newark's Felipe Olivas was 2-for-4 in the Bulldogs 15-1 victory over the Wilmington Rebels. That stretched his hitting streak to 25 games.
In the clubhouse after the win, the 25-year-old Olivas told reporters, "I'm in a groove right now, and I am trying to stay there by doing the same things over and over again. If I change something, it might bring me bad luck." Felipe Olivas struck out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, singled in the 7th, grounded out in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
Olivas on the season is batting .408 with 1 home run. His totals include 17 RBIs and 25 runs scored. He has played in 26 games.
