ESL's Top Starter is Martínez Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 There's something about a young rookie winning the Eastern League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Claudio Martínez, a 21-year-old starter for the Wilmington Rebels. In July, he topped off the month with a 4-1 mark and 2.20 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 32.2 innings, fanned 47 and held opposing teams to a .234 average. In 23 starts this season Martínez has fashioned a 12-5 record and a 4.04 ERA. |
