Huie Hits 3 Homers Against West Palm Monday, October 2nd, 2023 Going... Going... Gone! Lu-fang Huie did it three times in the New Hampshire 7-6 victory over the West Palm Reds. Three home runs in one game! "I was in a groove," he said, "and every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." Commenting after the game to the press, the elated Huie explained, "I tell you what, I was so shocked because I didn't think the last ball had enough to get out. I thought it was just going to be a long out." For the day the New Hampshire right fielder went 3-for-4 against West Palm with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting. Lu-fang Huie hit a solo-shot off Pat Candelária in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Pat Candelária in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Francisco Nieto in the 6th and walked in the 8th. This season Huie has hit at a .251 clip with 46 RBIs, 15 home runs and 49 runs scored. |
