MacGruder Whitewashes Montgomery Thursday, September 14th, 2023 Before the game Mark MacGruder liked his chances and his instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing the Blues pitcher whitewashed the Montgomery Biscuits 2-0. MacGruder said in the clubhouse afterward, "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day. My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count." The Memphis starter held Montgomery scoreless, giving up 2 hits while registering 6 strikeouts and issuing no walks. "We didn't have very many good at-bats," the Biscuits manager said in his postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose." So far this year MacGruder has made 32 starts, tossed 215.2 innings, struck out 182 batters and walked 44. His record is 14-10 with a 3.30 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .248 batting average. |
