NWL Player of the Week, Major of Moose Jaw Monday, June 5th, 2023 John Major must have thought he was in seventh heaven this week. First he went on a sensational hitting spree, belting the ball at a .393 pace, then the Moose Jaw first baseman finds out he has been selected the top performer and gets the Northwest League Player of the Week Award. Asked what his hitting philosophy was, Major quipped to the BNN reporters, "Well, my theory of hitting is to just watch the ball as it comes in and hit it." It was a good week's work for Major. He hit .393 average (11-for-28) with 2 home runs and 7 RBIs. This year Major is hitting .272 with 10 home runs and 48 RBIs in 53 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .303 with 10 walks and 27 runs scored. |
