Star of the Week Honored in NWL Monday, September 11th, 2023 26-year-old Alfredo Fernández made a few San Diego headlines during this past week as the rookie first baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Northwest League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 10 hits in 16 at-bats to put up a .625 average. Fernández collected 1 home run, 5 RBIs and scored 7 runs. For the year Fernández has hit .277 with 2 home runs, 25 RBIs and scored 27 runs. |
