Montés Clips Isotopes for Cycle
Friday, September 1st, 2023
It was a quite a day for Miguel Montés at Red Hot Stadium! He hit for the cycle, belting out every kind of hit there is in a baseball game -- single, double, triple and a home run. The San Jose right fielder accomplished the rare feat during his team's 15-12 victory over the Albuquerque Isotopes.
He told BNN reporters at the postgame press conference, "I never even thought about hitting for the cycle and what do you know, I did it. The cycle really doesn't matter to me, it is the 4 hits and the win that are important. But I guess it will be nice to see my name in the record book."
Montés went 4-for-5 in the game with 8 runs batted in and 3 runs scored.
Miguel Montés hit a two-run home run off Jason Dodd in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run double in the 4th, hit a three-run triple in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and walked in the 9th.
This year Montés is hitting .271 with 18 home runs.
