Qiao Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Hammertime Saturday, August 19th, 2023 There is an old saying, "Bad news comes in threes." Superstitious or not, it came true today in the case of the Redwood City Redwoods. Cheng-ho Qiao hit three homers and they still lost the game 25-7 to Houston at Redwood Park. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through like the Hammertime did. Cheng-ho hit the heck out of the ball. I'm just sorry we couldn't win it for him," his manager said in the postgame press conference. In addition to the homers, Qiao collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. He said after the game, "Easy swings get you home runs. I told myself not to press on the last one. It had to be a nice and easy swing."
