5-Hit Barrage by Hill Saturday, September 9th, 2023 Mike Hill exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Snake Park. The Indiana left fielder had a field day in the 12-9 triumph over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, finishing 5-for-6. "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Well, Hill must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. Mike Hill singled in the 1st, flied out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Jonas Malaret in the 9th. This season Hill has delivered 206 hits in 535 at-bats for a .385 average with 6 home runs. He is getting on base at a .465 clip and his totals also include 87 RBIs and 138 runs scored. This year Hill has played in 132 games. |
