Mora Hit String Snapped at 21 Friday, August 18th, 2023 It was the best of both worlds for the Indiana Hounds today at County Stadium as they defeated the Detroit X-Wings 10-1 and also ended Leonel Mora's 21-game hitting streak. The 27-year-old Detroit shortstop failed to get a hit in 2 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Leonel, we just wanted to win the game," said the victorious Hounds skipper. "We did a great job keeping him off balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Mora frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about my streak ending, but I would feel much better about things if we had won the game." Mora has collected 61 hits for the X-Wings this year, 3 of them home runs. He has also netted 24 RBIs and scored 40 runs while batting .311. |
