Hitting Streak Still Alive for Mora Wednesday, August 16th, 2023 Long hitting streaks don't happen very often and when they happen it perks up everybody's interest. No one knows how long it will go -- it could end tomorrow -- but baseball fans and Leonel Mora are enjoying the moment right now. The 27-year-old Detroit shortstop extended his string to 20 consecutive games in Saddlehorn Stadium today. Mora got 1 hit, but the Birmingham Barons got the victory. They toppled the X-Wings 17-4. Leonel Mora flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and grounded out in the 8th. Thus far this year Mora is batting .316 with 3 home runs, 23 RBIs and 39 runs scored. |
