Battlekings Chill Penrice's Hot Streak Wednesday, May 7th, 2031 It was the best of both worlds for the Naperville Battlekings today at Constellation Ballpark as they defeated the Gryfindor Braves 9-8 and also snapped Paul Penrice's 21-game hitting streak. The 25-year-old Gryfindor first baseman failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Penrice, we just wanted to win the game," said Battlekings skipper Marcus Terry. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Penrice frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Penrice is hitting .296 so far this season with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored. He has 8 hits including 1 home run, 1 walk and .345 OBP. |
