Gold Sox End Macíel's Streak
Wednesday, August 20th, 2031
It was the best of both worlds for the Chicago Gold Sox today at The Thunder Dome, as they defeated the Richardson City Thundercats 4-1 and also snapped Juan Macíel's 28-game hitting streak. The 23-year-old Richardson City center fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Macíel, we just wanted to win the game," said Gold Sox skipper Greg Diersing. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Macíel frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

Macíel is hitting .376 so far this season with 55 RBIs and 47 runs scored. He has 130 hits including 6 home runs, 15 walks and .403 OBP.
