Season Ends for José Vélez of Phoenix Wednesday, July 30th, 2031 The season is ending on a bad note for José Vélez, starting pitcher for the Phoenix Hotspur U-21. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Vélez was hurt against the South Beach Blaze while throwing a pitch. He suffered a torn rotator cuff and will be out for at least 6 months. So far this year Vélez has made 14 starts, tossed 91.2 innings, struck out 86 batters and walked 27. His record is 4-6 with a 4.42 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .269 batting average. |
