Almost There: Northern Virginia On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 7-2 Win
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids are one game away from a sweep of the New Amsterdam Dutchmen today after a 7-2 road win at Dutch Master Park. Rainbow Mermaids right-hander Ramón Molina was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. Northern Virginia now holds a - advantage in the best-of- Round 1.

Eustacio Tafalla, who is tied for 8th in the PL in doubles with 9, helped out the Northern Virginia cause in the top of the fourth inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

Tafalla attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
