Generals Fall to .500 After Loss to Chukars
|
Bobby Ruegsegger pitched well, but the Washington Generals still lost the game, falling 3-2 to the Idaho Falls Chukars at Washington Park. Tony Smehrik was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. The win boosts the Chukars to 9-11. The loss puts the Generals at 10-10.
The Chukars got a big at-bat from designated hitter Ramón González. For the game, González went 1-3. In the top of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 1st hit of the season gave Idaho Falls a 1-0 lead.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said González.
