Blaze Rally to Eke Out Win
Fans who gathered at Pipers Ballpark saw a good contest between the South Beach Blaze and Gwinnett County Black Cats.

The South Beach Blaze faced a tough opponent in Gwinnett County pitcher Peace Addo, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Pipers Ballpark by a final score of 4-3. Addo went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. South Beach reliever Wessel Rosas picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Brian Guilbert was saddled with the loss.

The most important at-bat for South Beach came in the top of the tenth inning, when designated hitter Bart Goodine stroked a 0-1 changeup to left for a run-scoring single, putting South Beach up, 4-3.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Goodine.

The Blaze, now 6-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.
