1787 BC Come Up Short at Hammond
The Heron Refuge was the site of a competitive game between the Delaware 1787 BC and Hammond Herons.

Delaware shortstop Jeff Quesenberry had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 5-4, to Hammond at The Heron Refuge. Quesenberry went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Even with the win, the Herons have a dismal 26-67 record.

In the bottom of the second, Marvin Overbeek hit a 2-run single for Hammond. The 64th hit of the season for the Hammond second baseman put the Herons on top, 5-3.

"Both teams played hard," said Hammond manager Davis Burt.
