Late Rally by Screaming Eagles Secures Win
|
Mercer Island Screaming Eagles starter Satoshi Ono turned in an exceptional performance against the Asheville Highlanders at Asheville Park, resulting in a Mercer Island win, 1-0. Ono got the win, improving to 8-4. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Ono allowed no earned runs. The Screaming Eagles bumped their record to 58-32 with this latest triumph.
Had Theo Fightmaster not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Fightmaster hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Screaming Eagles.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Ono told the Mercer Island Observer.
