Plymouth starter Rio Bavin pitched effectively against the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves at Plymouth Quarry. The left-hander led his team to a 6-5 win. Bavin got the win, improving to 3-8. He allowed 7 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. Bavin allowed 3 earned runs. Roberto Aguirre was credited with the save for Plymouth, his 15th of the season.
Cosmo Bjorkenheim had a big 2-run triple for the Rocks in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Plymouth trailing 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a knuckle curve from Dylan Guérin and stroked the triple to center. It was his 5th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rocks ahead, 3-2.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Bavin told a Plymouth Daily reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
Plymouth occupies 9th place in the Premier AAA at 27-37.
