Hotspur Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Divided
|
The D.C. Divided got a superb performance from pitcher Dale Kurth. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Phoenix. The Hotspur won the game, 9-6. In spite of the loss, Kurth was named the player of the game. He came in in relief and pitched to 20 batters . Wes Hamm picked up the win, improving his season record to 9-7. He struck out 6 in 7.2 innings. The Hotspur now have a mark of 43-43.
Kyle Bywaters helped out the Phoenix cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the shortstop went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Bywaters told the Phoenix Daily. "It's as simple as that."
