Dogfish Head Lose Again, 9-3, to Rocks
|
The Plymouth Rocks bested the Milton Dogfish Head by a score of 9-3, with catcher Raúl Rodríguez getting the main credit. On the day, Rodríguez was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Rocks. Cisco Andr was the winner. Over 8 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 3 walks and 8 strikeouts. The win takes Plymouth to 8-6.
Jeff Lawson had a big 2-run triple for the Rocks in the top of the second inning. With Plymouth leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Vincente Ortíz and stroked the triple to left-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rocks ahead, 4-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Rodríguez said.
