Román Goes Wild, But Polar Bears Win
|
Billings and Ottawa met at Nationals Park in front of a lively crowd.
The Billings Polar Bears had to overcome a big game from Ottawa catcher Juan Román to leave Nationals Park with a 13-5 victory. Román slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Eduardo Díaz got the win, improving to 5-2. He worked 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2.
Atro Jarvilehto was a key contributor to the win for the Polar Bears. In the top of the first with two out, the light-hitting first baseman stroked a triple to left. He went 2 for 5 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Jarvilehto said after the game.
