Starting pitcher Jorge Travieso pitched well enough to help the Port Royal Disaster beat the Naperville Battlekings by the score of 5-3. Jin Kwon picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-3. Rob Rocha was tagged with the loss. Port Royal is now riding a 4-game win streak.
The Disaster got a big at-bat from center fielder Loren Stallings. For the game, Stallings went 2-5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 8th double of the season gave Port Royal a 5-3 lead.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Stallings told the Port Royal News.
