Halberds Get Road Win, 4-1

The Alloway Halberds topped the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 4-1, in USSL Triple A action at Dog Park in Ellenburg. The player of the game was Alloway pitcher Nicholas Beyer. Marcos Sarmiento, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 18th save. Alloway occupies 5th place in the Silver AAA at 47-48.
The result might have been different for Alloway, had it not been for Tom Boyer. The shortstop produced a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Halberds ahead, 3-1. For the game, Boyer had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Halberds manager Santiago Vargas, "I like our chances."
