Halberds Prevail, 4-2, Over Port Royal
|
Behind a solid performance from shortstop Juan Salinas, the Alloway Halberds defeated the Port Royal Disaster, 4-2. Salinas hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Halberds. Marcos Sarmiento, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 15th save. Alloway is now 43-44, Port Royal 40-47.
Salinas had a key at-bat for Alloway early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and gave Alloway an early 2-0 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Salinas said.
