Late Rally by Disaster Secures Win
|
The Port Royal Disaster bested the Royse City Targaryens, 5-3, at Ballpark of Port Royal. Aurelio Jiménez was named player of the game. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Port Royal reliever Esteban García picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Doug Freeth was saddled with the loss. Jon King was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 20 of 21 save opportunities.
Ricky Payton, who was drafted in the three round of the 2027 draft, aided the Port Royal cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the center fielder was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Jiménez told the Port Royal News.
Port Royal occupies 6th place in the Silver AAA at 34-36.
