Athletic Club KC Reserves starter Jesús Otero turned in a sterling performance against the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Athletic Club KC reliever Adam Taylor picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Yoriyoshi Yoshimura absorbed the loss. António Hernández earned his 3rd save in 3 tries.
Had Tony García not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, García hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Reserves.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Otero.
Athletic Club KC is now 22-29. Santa Barbara is 25-26.
