Myrtle Beach rode a fine outing from starter Chad Li to victory over the Atlantic City Sonics at Sonics Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. Bob Christison got the save, the 8th for him this season. Myrtle Beach has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
Had Héctor Rivera not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Rivera hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Mermen.
"It feels good to get this one," Rivera told the Myrtle Beach Today.
