Salazar Leads Bowties to Win over Northern Lions BC
|
The Buckhead Bowties thumped the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 9-2, at Great Northern Field. Roberto Salazar was a big reason his team got the win. Salazar went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Buckhead reliever Yoshii Ikeda picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-2. Stewart Fleming was collared with the loss. Buckhead is now 13-18.
Salazar contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Buckhead in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Salazar took a slider from Stewart Fleming and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Bowties to leap in front, 3-2.
"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Salazar after the game.
