Extra-Inning Win by Stingers over BC
|
Despite a fine performance by first baseman Karl Blanke, the Philadelphia 1776 BC suffered a 9-7 loss to the Toledo Stingers. Blanke went 4-6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 times. The Stingers now have a mark of 63-41.
Ned Durand's hit in the top of the 11th was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a fastball from António Rodríguez for a run-scoring double. It put Toledo in front, 8-7.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Durand said.
