Myrtle Beach No Match for Sledge Monday, September 16th, 2030 Marco Sledge of the Tacoma Fur Traders spun his magic on the Myrtle Beach Mermen today. He blanked them 7-0 on 6 hits, registering 6 strikeouts and 1 walk. "The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Sledge said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down." Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Tacoma skipper David Márquez said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations." "Marco pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said. So far this year Sledge has made 24 starts, tossed 164.2 innings, struck out 106 batters and walked 46.
