SAAA Selects Griffin July's Best Pitcher Thursday, August 1st, 2030 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Joe Griffin, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Port Royal Disaster reliever, 29, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .223 average and walked away with the USSL Triple A Pitcher of the Month award for July. Griffin posted a 4-0 mark and a 1.31 ERA in 9 relief appearances. In 34.1 innings, he had no saves, 21 strikeouts, and 8 walks. This season in 26 relief appearances Griffin has thrown 84 innings and collected 1 save. His won-lost record is 6-2 with a 3.96 ERA. |
