Martínez and Cruz Brawl, League Suspends Them Monday, July 1st, 2030 After an intense confrontation, both the Chukars Pedro Martínez and the Herons Juan Carlos Cruz were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Idaho Falls-Hammond game. Both players will miss 4 games as a result of their actions. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Pedro Martínez commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Martínez is hitting .222 this year with 2 home runs and 4 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .319, 7 walks and scored 12 times. To date this year Cruz has won 2 and lost 3 with a 2.33 ERA, 1 save and 24 strikeouts in 15 relief appearances. |
