Big Day by Etheridge Ignites Cattlemen Win
|
A 4-RBI performance from Chris Etheridge, who is tied for 5th in the SL in stolen bases with 20, helped the Ft. Worth Cattlemen beat the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 9-5. The winner was Darren Garland, who threw 76 pitches over 5 innings. The right-hander was charged with 5 runs on 10 hits. Ft. Worth is now 37-31, while Thunder Bay is 24-44.
Etheridge came through with some timely hitting for Ft. Worth. With the score 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth and no one down, Etheridge hit a first pitch fastball for a bases-clearing double. His 10th double of the season made it 5-3, Ft. Worth.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Etheridge.
