Cattlemen Stumble, Lose to Middies

The Grafton Middies bested the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 8-3, at Field of the Middies. John Meléndez was named player of the game. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Kenete Daku sewed up the save, his 19th. The Middies now have a mark of 36-28.
Meléndez had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Robbie Betchley, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Middies a 4-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Meléndez.
"We came out aggressive," said Middies manager Bill Cefaratti. "We came out swinging the bats."
